Dr. Nyssa Petersen Ventura, PhD

As a clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience, I am passionate about improving access to high-quality, neuroaffirming care for autistic and neurodivergent individuals and their families. I have been involved in the Washington State Autism Center of Excellence (COE) program since 2019, UW/Seattle Children’s Hospital Autism ECHO Multidisciplinary Program since 2021, and have served as SMART Director for Chelan-Douglas counties since 2020, leading and coordinating our local School and Medical Autism Review Team.

My background spans diverse settings, including a federally qualified health center (FQHC), integrated primary care, a neuropsychology clinic, inpatient hospital services, a school district, and outpatient mental health. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges and opportunities within each system and fuel my commitment to building bridges between them.

In my clinical work, I specialize in comprehensive evaluations – including autism, ADHD, and cognitive testing – to support clarity, insight, and next steps in care. I offer assessments for all ages and therapy for adolescents and adults, integrating approaches such as ACT, DBT, psychodynamic, strengths-based, and holistic health perspectives. I also provide supervision and consultation for mental health professionals.

My role with VAST reflects my dedication to fostering collaboration between healthcare providers, educators, and families to strengthen diagnostic processes, enhance services, and build a more connected network of support in our region.
